The Substance of What is Hoped For...

"Show me your faith apart from your works, and I, by my works, will show you my faith." James 2:18b. We believe, so we work. We squeeze out time in the evening, or on weekends. We give of our finances, and other resources, voluntarily, without compulsion. Why? Because we believe. We believe that God was in Christ Jesus, reconciling the world to Himself not counting our sins against us. We believe that God loves you. Really, he doesn't just tolerate you. He loves you and wants you to be with Him forever. He is building a place for you right here in Casey County, on Halon Young Rd., where you can receive from His abundant grace, and grow into the image and likeness of Christ Himself. You are invited.

St. Athanasius Academy Commencement

This past weekend, May 19, witnessed the third graduating class of St. Athanasius Academy. Commencement ceremonies were held at Christ the King. St. Athanasius Academy is the Lemmon family's home school. This year Isaiah successfully completed his High School curriculum. In attendance at the ceremony were many of his extended family as well as members of his church family. The graduation was followed by a reception, complete with swing dancing and a bonfire on the lawn at Christ the King. We are proud of Isaiah's accomplishments. While he has no intention of attending college at this point, he is a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker and will be taking up full time responsibility at Lemmon and Sons Woodworking LLC. In addition to his woodworking business, he is currently overseeing the beginnings of a poultry operation and has plans to expand the operation to include sheep or goats.

Prayer Walk at Christ the King

First steps have been made in the creation of a prayer garden/walk here on the grounds of Christ the King. It began as an idea in our hearts, for a place of quiet and tranquility, where a person can step aside from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and find their peace in God. Recently, we took the first step by clearing a short path through a relatively flat section of woodland. We plan to add some benches and stations of prayer through the course of the path. It is our hope that this garden will one day be seen as a great resource to our whole neighborhood, open to everyone who wishes a quiet place to pray.
